The government says that, as a good will gesture, it will reduce the government supported Arab militias in Darfur by 30 percent. While the government has admitted that it has 60,000 soldiers and police in Darfur, it has never given a precise figure for the paramilitaries. So no one will know if the cuts actually take place.
