 The rebels have refused to deal with the new government, because that government was appointed by the king, not organized by leaders in an elected parliament. The rebels are betting that popular resistance to the appointed government will bring it down and put the rebels in a better negotiating position. The rebels are especially keen on getting rid of the monarchy and see this as a chance to do it. But so far, there is not much unrest about the appointed government.
