Air Force Space Command has taken over Buckley Air Force Base near Denver, which has been a Colorado Air National Guard base for 40 years. The 821st Space Group will be the host unit. Its primary responsibility is to pass information from the Defense Support Program (missile warning) satellites to the 21st Space Wing and to the Missile Warning Center at Cheyenne Mountain. Buckley will become the focus for the future Space-Based Infrared Satellite program.--Stephen V Cole
