The Bush Administration has finally gotten around to appointing a White House science advisor, John Marburger, director of the Energy Department's laboratory in Brookhaven NY. He was selected far too late to have any impact on the Administration's policy on missile defense. He will be up for Senate confirmation this Fall.--Stephen V Cole
