Ukraine has developed its own laser-guided cannon-fired missile, which it designated as Combat. This is similar to the Russian Refleks and Svir, but is clearly an almost-entirely new design. The missile is designed for use by the Ukrainian T-80UD/T-84 tank. There are two parts, the missile and a "pusher" block which kicks the missile out of the tank's cannon barrel. The two parts (total weight 31 kg) are loaded separately by the autoloader, with the missile (of course) going into the chamber first. Combat has a range of 5,000 meters (the same as Refleks), and has tandem high-explosive shaped-charge warheads to penetrate explosive reactive armor. The missile could, of course, also damage bunkers and destroy a helicopter (although only a hovering helicopter could be hit).--Stephen V Cole
