The U.S. Marine Corps, noting their operations in Afghanistan, where they went in by helicopter to grab an airfield for later use by the air force and army, are calling this tactic, "kicking in the roof." In the past, the marines called their amphibious operations, also for the purpose of opening the way for army and air force units, "kicking in the door."
