The British Royal Navy has ordered two new 16,160-ton "Alternative Landing Ship Logistics" from Swan Hunter (Tyneside). These will be operated by the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service as the RFA Lyme Bay and the RFA Largs Bay. Two more of these ships will be ordered later this year from British Aerospace Marine.--Stephen V Cole
